Quality sound and versatile!
Really practical and useful little box, obviously improved version compared to the stompbox - which i owned but sold to a friend. Both have crystal clear sound - not too digital either, dare say - but this one does look a lot more robust. Especially the female plugs, which as stated by other users too felt flimsy on the stompbox but sturdy on this one! Also something much appreciated: all - but one - connectors on one side, finally! The stompbox looked like an octopus with open tentacles when all connected, plus not too practical... Also the knobs and buttons - not the ones on the screen - have a much more solid feel.
Other improvements compared to the stompbox: GAIN knob on EVERY channel - - though channels 3/4 still cannot serve too weak sources such as passive piezo pickups - L/R XLR out, FINALLY - crucial! - analogue main out knob with on/off switch, output 2 with TRS jacks and not stereo minijack... PLUS stereo aux out minijack with switch to select output 1 or 2 AND - though too small - its own volume knob... PLUS auxiliary in/return minijack! this goes to the XLR out only and without dedicated control but you can use the two minijacks to feed and return an external effect (by setting the aux to post) OR connect - in stereo! - a phone or laptop or Bluetooth DI etc without occupying another of the 4 inputs! Finally, a - necessary - ground/lift switch.
Of course the footswitches on the stompbox may be practical but since the box doesn't feel too robust - contrary to the MAX - I don't know if it's a good idea to put it on the floor...All in all, the MAX is a much better device. And a few euros cheaper... Clear purchase recommendation!
