ESP E-II Eclipse DB PSP

Unboxing this beauty was an experience. Got a massive WOW effect when opening the case. The quality when holding and playing this guitar is undeniable and I cannot imagine it being even better.
BUT. I did have an issue after playing the guitar after about two minutes. The problem was that the fretboard was most likely darkened at the factory and it wasn’t cleaned properly so my fingers were pitch black after a single vibrato. Was pretty bummed about it. I contacted Thomann and they provided me with a MusicNomads fingerboard oil free of charge that helped cleaning and treating the fretboard properly. So I did have to invest maybe 45mins on cleaning and treating the fretboard. I read up on it and turns out it’s a fairly common issue with ebony fingerboards. After cleaning and treating it myself there are no issues anymore. I was tempted to take away one of the stars because of this but since it’s ever since been such a treat to play this thing, I’m letting it slide. Sh*t happens.
This guitar is a thing of beauty. Feels like a custom shop guitar. It plays like a dream. Perfect setup out of the box. Sound is MASSSSIVE. Cleans are lush. Leads are singing. Riffs are crushing. Btw pickups are the “splitable” EMG 57TW AND 66TW. Not regular 57/66 set which is stated in the specs on Thomann web. Which I’m happy about.
I love this guitar so much. If you ever find yourself in situation of being able to get it, don’t hesitate. And make no mistake. You can play any genre with this thing. Definitely not just metal.
