Brilliant tone and speaks well in the upper register
I waited for this instrument to be fully played in before reviewing. I sought an instrument with plenty of potential as I progress beyond intermediate level and this meets the requirement at a very reasonable cost. This is a beautifully finished, well voiced instrument with a brilliant but woody tone eminently suitable for solo playing. I have played all the Telemann Fantasies on it. The upper register speaks very easily. The bottom F# and G# are not as strong as I would like but inevitably there are compromises to be made in voicing. As is typical for grenadilla there is a tendency to clog until the instrument is really warmed up, then it is OK. I ordered this in early January 2021, shortly after Brexit. Thomann responded very quickly to Brexit. All delivery and customs arrangements proceeded smoothly despite the instrument being purchased free of EU tax. I have since ordered a different instrument from Thomann with a similar result and strongly recommend the company to UK customers. Thank you Thomann.
