The Gotoh 1996 is simply put the best floyd rose style tremolo there is, there is nothing more to say. It’s cheaper than most other Floyd style tremolos, fits better, plays better. The tremolo arm mechanism itself is worth every penny. I have upgraded my Floyd Rose special in my LTD M-1007, I hated how the Floyd Rose arm always got loose while playing, I had to use 4 springs for the right tension, and it was generally really stiff, would not flutter at all. I upgraded to the Gotoh 1996, immediately the tremolo tension was miles better, only had to use 3 springs. It is so much smooter, flutters nicely, and the arm stays where I want it, always. My honest opinion, every guitar with a Floyd trem should have a Gotoh instead.
