I got these for a Player II tele mostly to smoothen tuning for the two highest strings, and they seem to do the job adequately. Not perfect but that's the way it is with flat headstocks.
Fender says their hardware is chrome/nickel, and compared to these string retainers I would say that their tuners and the old stock retainer were more towards nickel, whereas these are clearly chrome. Doesn't make much difference on a part of this size, but if I would do it again I'd try the nickel ones.
The quality of these Gotohs seems good. I can't feel any sharp edges with my fingers and no strings have snapped yet.
Since I wanted to use the "spacers" to raise the strings I also had to use the longer screws that they came with. Those seem to be as wide as the originals, but the threading is very slightly different. I screwed them in anyway and they seem to hold fine. Possibly there could be problems if you'd try to go back to stock hardware.
