The reasons why I decided to buy this little bass amp are simple - like other buyers of this little amp, I was interested in a large number of extremely positive reviews but also the very low price for this experiment... well, and the fact that I won't be too disappointed if I mistakenly invested 110 Euros. I don't need to add anything special to the description of this little amp - everything has already been written by other reviewers and I (fully) agree with them & their positive reviews. This is a small, very well-constructed and very practical device for those who need an amplifier for practice, playing with small orchestras & small venues and possibly recording in the studio (I'll explain this a little better later). The internal compressor is a very useful addition; although it is not overly usable in this amplifier, Bluetooth as well as the possibility of using headphones for silent mode in such a well-designed device are definitely a big bonus. I use this little "experiment" exclusively in the studio and in this regard, my only complaint about this device is: the Joyo BanTamP BadASS unfortunately does not have a balanced line out, which is necessary for me for recording in the studio (I never use microphones - recording the sound of electro-acoustic instruments with microphones only makes sense in specially acoustically designed spaces) and it also lacks a noise suppressor because the "send" still generates a certain level of noise (hiss & hum). I solved this problem very simply, acceptably & cheaply. I used a passive adapter & noise suppressor Palmer PAN01 ( Palmer PAN 01 ), a couple of short HB patch cables and a couple of screws with nuts. I dismantled the handle from the top of the amplifier, drilled two holes in the metal box of the PAN01 and using the existing holes from the handle, attached the PAN01 to the top of the amplifier. The thin 15cm patch cables are long enough (and small enough not to look ugly) to connect to the "send" & "return" . Plus, the PAN01 also has a "link output" for eventual using different pedals, effects, etc. I think with amplifier included switch box (for internal compressor control) is impractical & redundant. Maybe Thomann could offer a Bundle: Joyo BanTamP BadASS + Palmer PAN01? As I wrote earlier, I'm only interested in studio use, but for the purposes of this review I tried how this amp sounds live. I used two bass boxes: TC Electronic BC208 Bass Cab (small box with 2 x 8" custom drivers, 8 Ohm, 200W) and Fender BXR-200 bass combo amplifier (huge bass-reflex box, specially adapted for connection with external amplifier direct to loudspeaker 1 x 15", 200W, 4 Ohm). For me, Joyo BanTamP BadASS with both boxes sounded exactly as one would expect tube amps to sound. The BXR-200 was particularly impressive - powerful & warm. Of course, that's not what you get with a Fender Bassman Head or an Ampeg SVT Head, but consider the fact that for 20 to 30 times less money you get a pocket version of a Fender or Ampeg... An Ibanez Musician 941 bass guitar (active pickups, integrated equalizer) was used for this test.
