I bought the Schilke 5A4a mouthpiece because I wanted a slightly smaller diameter cup compared to the Schilke 6A4a which I had been using as I felt it was wider and my lip strength faded fast ! ,maybe because I also play b flat cornet as well as soprano ! .
Tone wise I feel my new 5A4a makes a far nicer sound , also its really easy to play loud as well as quiet .
It's easy enough to play high and easy to play low on the sop , so mouthpiece has good range , also the rim is quite comfortable for long band practise nights !
All in all I think people will love this mouthpiece for soprano cornet, am really enjoying it so far!
