Yanagisawa B-WO2 Baritone Saxophone

Ich habe es nun seit ein paar Monaten und bin sehr happy damit. Ich war zuvor bei Thomann um verschiedene auszuprobieren, unter anderem Yamaha und Keilwerth. Yanagisawa lag mir am Besten in den Händen, auch die Klappen für die tiefen Töne sind relativ leicht zu erreichen und nicht allzuschwer zu Drücken. Der etwas dunklere Sound vom 02 und 20 hat mir gut gefallen. Ich hatte damals das 20er ausprobiert, aber ich merke nun kaum einen Unterschied zum 02er.
Das Yamaha war für meinen Geschmack zu hell vom Sound und mit dem Keilwerth hatte ich Probleme über alle Töne eine saubere Ansprache zu bekommen. Habe später auch noch ein P. Mauriat ausprobiert, welches aber vom Sound her, ähnlich wie das Yamaha, zu hell war. Und es konnte von Mechanik und Intonation nicht mit dem Yanagisawa mithalten.

Mit dem Yanagisawa konnte ich auf einmal Dinge spielen, welche mit meinem bisherigen eher älteren Buffet Crampon 400 nicht möglich waren. Ich brauche viel weniger Luft und die Ansprache und Intonation sind massiv besser.

Es ist vom Sound her dunkel aber voll, was für mich im Popsound (meist Bassstimme) gut passt. Von der Optik gefällt es mir auch gut, da es nicht, wie die meisten, einfach goldig ist. Es ist aber auch nicht so Auffällig, wie das schwarze Keilwerth. Intonation ist fast auf allen Tönen einfach ausgezeichnet.

This is the first saxophone I have ever bought, and I can guarantee that it will be the only baritone sax I will ever buy. First of all, It's unbelievably beautiful. If you want to stick out and be memorable for your audience, this is a great option. I personally find saxes with the black lacquer to be quite tacky looking, but the bronze on this sax is a work of art. Second of all, it's so responsive, notably in the lower register. To be able to play the low A and Bb so effortlessly at such quiet dynamics all while keeping fantastic tone quality and intonation. I mean, what more could you ask for?. Last of all, I have always found that, with the baris I've played it the past, it can become quite strenuous and difficult to play fast passages for extended periods of time; But not this sax. The keys feel almost as if they were molded to my hands perfectly, running up and down scales is effortless, and most importantly: It's almost silent.

I could not be more happy with my purchase and I cannot stress how much I reccomend that any body looking to purchase a professional baritone saxophone to buy the BWO-02.

I also cannot stress enough the importance of buying from Thomann specifically. As a Canadian customer, saxophones are incredibly expensive. Buying from Thomann saved me, and no this is not an exaggeration, $7000CAD compared to the price at Long & McQuade (Best price I could find anywhere in North America)
