NOT MACHINE FOR THIS PRICE RANGE!
phantom1 19.01.2026
Machine-Heads:
Tuners are a lovely flashy chrome polished finish, and there Material feels rather solid for the price paid, Tuners (Machine-Heads) are not overly sensitive, and tune with good feel.
Head-Stock:
Yes it angled back just like a pro banjo, the thickness is around average around 15 or so mm Thick, and is a nice size to take the tension of the strings.
NUT:
The nut is one downside to the instrument as it is plastic, and can always be replaced anyway.
NECK:
The length is just under 15 and a half inches, and Width is 32mm at Head End and spans to 47mm to meet the body, also, another good thing about the neck is the grain in the wood follows the neck from body to head (Length ways). Again the wood is exotic and it feels good and robust.
The neck is also beveled on either side the whole way up the neck.
The Fingerboard is again Rosewood with in-bedded design finish (White in Color) on every major key.
FRETS:
There are 19 Frets, frets are thin to medium, That is fine as it is enough to get a very good start (IF it is your first Banjo). The finish on the frets are nicely polished.
Truss-Rod:
Id guess one rod, and accessed thru the head stock. as the neck is though the the truss-rod will be the same.
BODY WORK:
Lugs = 24 the whole way round, and cannot be accessed from the top of the head on the instrument, The Lug Tuners are accessed from inside the body work and the material is a lovely chroma finish that glitters in light.
The head is just a stock head from the factory and it has a slight glazey roughness i do suggest changing the head on the Banjo to a more rougher head. also the head is a single stroke head, that is good for gigs, for practice try a 2,3 or quad stroke head by "Ambassador".
The head size is approximately 11"in (Diameter),
The tension hop is decent and its got depth, so it will hold it's tuning.
BRIDGE / SADDLE:
The wood for the saddle is fair for practice, but think of getting something steel or bone if one plans to gig with the Instrument.
The Bridge is lovely and adjustable using your hand to tighten or and loosen, the materials fair too and won't bend or loose shape easily.
CASE:
Yes, it comes with a very impressive cushioned Hard-case Too with gold colored fixings and ready to go when gigging.
WEIGHT:
Well, i don't have a scale so i could not weigh the Banjo.

OVERALL:

This is a good instrument for the price. so, i will rate it like this:
For Pro Player 3 and a Half Stars.

For Intermediate Players, Say, 4 Stars.

For Beginners, 5 Star Rating.

As it is very pro for some-one starting out.

Yes, Good Quality, only from Thomann.de

Thank You Thomann!

R
